Description:
Brief description of the tender: The purpose of the design competition is to find a concept design for the renovation of the Varbus post station complex. With the idea competition, we want to find the best idea to make the post station complex more attractive, more accessible, better able to solve the museum's needs and shortcomings, and a visitor center that offers experiences. We are looking for creative ideas to make the main building of the post station, the surrounding yard and the outbuildings serve society in the best possible way. The concept design must be based on the building of the post station with its special architecture, location and history. The design must value the heritage, but encourage finding solutions, interpretations and layers that will help the 21st century visitor to better understand and discover the original meaning of the building complex.
